Job Location:
This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at and will be assigned to the Rock Island Trail State Park with work assignments located over a large geographic area. The office for this position will be located at Missouri State Parks Central Warehouse, 5568 Osage Beach Parkway, Osage Beach, MO 65065. Shift is Monday through Friday 7:
30a.m. to 4:
00p.m. (1/2 hour lunch break.)

Here, you will be part of a team that will work on the initial development and maintenance of the mostly undeveloped Rock Island Trail.

What you&s;ll do:


n

  • n
  • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.

  • n
  • Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.

  • n
  • May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.

  • n
  • Maintains preventative maintenance plan and repair program; inspects structures and equipment for safety/risk issues and recommends solutions.

  • n
  • Assist in planning, scheduling and implementation of projects including small maintenance and repair and capital improvement.

  • n
  • Work with and assist landowners along the trail with issues that may arise and help clear downed trees/limbs.

  • n
  • Clear brush and assist in removing barriers for fencing projects.

  • n
  • Fix and maintain fence along the corridor and work with landowners when fencing issues arise.

  • n
  • Inspect the trail and trail heads, removing any observed debris or trash and maintain Missouri State Park signage noting damage and recommend replacement when necessary.

  • n
  • Operation and maintenance of mowers, weed eaters, chainsaw, skid steer, and forklift.

  • n
  • Haul equipment using best practices for load securement.

  • n

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications


n

  • n
  • 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas:
    electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Education may be substituted for experience.)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience/Special Job Requirements

  • n
  • Knowledge in a variety of trade areas including:
    electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.

  • n
  • Skill and ability to operate tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.

  • n
  • Ability to provide and follow directions.

  • n
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical manual.

  • n
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator&s;s license.

  • n
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts.

  • n
  • Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.

  • n
  • Must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and have the ability to lift 25 pounds.

  • n
  • This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator&s;s license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.
